Full Release - The Blade's Unlock
When fully unleashed, the Blades of the Goddess of Darkness do not simply cut flesh—they sever fate, unravel destiny, and impose absolute finality upon those they strike. The power comes at a price, drawing from the very life force of the wielder as the weight of oblivion bears down upon them. The final act of the priestess of scars in the year 1149 was to bind the blades and shield the darkness. Utilizing an ancient artifact from long ago, the power of the blades was limited, and no blade has fully released its dormant power since that day.
Effect
Releasing of the power of the dark goddess creates an aura of darkness around the wielder as shadows bend and weave around them. The blade saps destiny itself from the battlefield, nullifying divine intervention and mortal luck outside of the dark lady's own will.
- Any luck-based abilities, rerolls, or inspiration dice cannot be used by enemies within 30 feet.
- Portent (Divination Wizard), Legendary Resistances, and Divine Blessings do not function within this area.
- Any creature that would normally survive fatal damage due to a divine boon such as Death Ward, a god's protection, or even relentless endurance falls.
The wielder's movement speed doubles for the duration of the full release.
The wielder is surrounded by a shifting veil of darkness, granting them the effects of the Blur spell (attacks against them have disadvantage unless the attacker has blindsight, true sight, or another means of seeing through supernatural darkness).
The wielder gains +3 to attack and damage rolls while the blade is in full release.
Critical Hits deal an extra 2d12 necrotic damage in addition to any other effects and normal double damage.
Each blade depending on the bindings holds unfathomable power that can be unleashed; however, the toll it takes on the wielder is immense, and most do not survive should they attempt it.
To unleash this power is to temporarily uncouple the very bindings of the blade before recoupling them back in a massive display of power. A wielder must concentrate for 2 rounds chanting an incantation that will begin unweaving the bindings of their blade to themselves. During this time the wielder falls under the status of concentration. Should they take damage, they must make a save. After each round, they must also make an additional save after making their constitution saving throw for their point(s) of exhaustion.
At the beginning of their turn in the third round if concentration has remained and the chant is complete, they speak a word in celestial "Rahebindeh" (Rebind), and as the bindings reforge an attack is expunged from the wielder physically manifesting the truth of the blade's bindings.
Side/Secondary Effects
At the end of the users turn, the wielder must make a constitution saving throw against the oppressive power of the blade as a fragment of the goddess's power flows through them. On a successful save, the wielder receives 1 level of exhaustion and on a failed save they receive 2. If the wielder reaches 6 levels of exhaustion they do not die conventionally, instead their very existence begins to unravel as the strength of the dark goddess flows through them and eats away at their very soul until they crumble away, turning into dust in the wind. Nothing short of a wish spell can bring someone that has perished like this back.
Manifestation
The wielder spends a bonus action and concentrates on the bindings that tie them to their blade and their very life force. Channeling this darkness, they speak a trigger word “Tel’Lantë” to activate the release of power, channeling it from the sword to their body.
