Rune of Power

Runes of Power are sources of raw elemental energy, holes in reality where the elemental planes shine through with their limitless power. Runes of power are the basis of dwarven and giant magic items, where they use the fundamental language of elemental power to enchant their weapons. The smallest Runes are called shards, small concentrations of elemental power, which are commonly used in amgic items. The most powerful runes are Greatrunes, runes of power tied to a specific aspect and often specific elemental lord.
