Faordaon

Most humans living in the Duchy of East Sceya are Faordaon. The Faordaon are a loose confederation of hamlets and farming villages living in close connection with nature, trading with each other, keeping animals and growing crops.
Since the coming of the Gold Empire, the traditional lifestyle of the Faordaon has been challenged. The Imperials come south with their machines, with their lumber industry, their religion, their language and education. Many Faordaon have assimilated into the Imperial culture, with the duke's policy of supporting rural schools paying great dividends.
However, most Faordaon do still not trust the Gold Empire and prefer to live in their old ways.
