Cloud Giant

The second-greatest Giants according to the Stétt, and the greatest according to themselves, are the Cloud Giants. Princes of the skies, merchants of antiquity and superb wizards and storytellers, Cloud Giants have travelled the world since ancient times, collecting riches and trading with all the world's cultures. Cloud giants are organized in vast families, the nobility of the ancient giant kingdoms. When the destruction of these kingdoms loomed, many Cloud Giants fled aboard their skyships and flying castles and fortresses, a diaspora to new lands.
Today the Cloud Giants are reduced from their old might, wealthy refugees fleeing a threat they can't quite put their finger on.

Wealth
What Cloud Giants value more than anything else is wealth, as measured in treasure, gold, magic items and important cultural items. Hierarchy among the Cloud Giants is detemined by their wealth, but it is not in the nature of Cloud Giants to just lock their wealth in a keep. They are far to vain creatures for that. They have to show off their wealth as opulent jewelry, incredible art and gifts to other Cloud Giants.
It is considered rude for one kind of Cloud Giant to give an expensive and unique gift to another, a display of superiority, and such gifts can result in century-long competitions to see who can out-opulent the other.
