Places that leylines flow beneath are places of higher magical power, These areas of dense magical energy often resulting in these areas being heavily altered by said magic such as wild magic pockets or floating islands.

It is also possible to damage a leyline resulting in catastrophic damage both physical and magical to the surrounding environment and those living there.

Localization

Leylines run throughout the material realm with some areas having crisscrossing leylines resulting in areas of great magical power.

Places of Power

Mimir

The massive floating city floats above one of the the regions' most dense areas of leylines, the arcane energy having fundamentally alter the rock and terrain that makes up the city's foundation. The leyline allows it to float high above the ground below, as long as the leyline radiates magic the city remains afloat.

Forgotten Wastes

Ironically so near to a massive tangle of leylines resides a "dead zone" so to speak. While scholars in Mimir have speculated the truth of what happened to the Forgotten Wastes no one can confirm what caused the leylines to become so chaotic in the region. Just as leylines can provide magic the invisible web of energy can just as easily take it away.
