Bears of Tymon

The Bears of Tymon are a military group in the River Kingdoms. They formed in Tymon as a mercenary group and fought in the many battles among the city states of the "kingdom". Their first leader was an orc called Bormon "the bear", who eventually decided to keep one of the cities of the kingdom, Tymon, as his own. He and his mercenaries killed the current ruler of the city and those loyal to him and settled in. Change of power is nothing uncommon in the River Kindoms, so he was not faced with too much resistance.

Years later, Bormon's son Marn rose to power as Bormon has been poisoned and mostly crippled. Two years later Bormon died. Marn used the mercenaries under his control and new recruits from Tymon to conquer and control two other cities, Daggermark and Sevenarches, becoming the biggest coherent force in the River Kingdoms.
Kyonin, the Elven nation south of the River Kingdoms started supporting the Tymon lions, mainly by providing various goods to stabilize the region and preventing their rivals from Razmiran in the Southwest to regain its former strenght and conquering the River Kingdoms.

With the support of the elven, Marn was able to conquer a fourth city, Gralton. Gralton however was just a very small city and is often attacked by bandits from the nearbywoods or the competing city states Pitax and Mivon and changed hands often, before and after the Bears of Tymon first took control of it.

Relationship to inhabitants The bears of Tymon are mercenaries, and as such will take what they need from wherever they can get it. The people in the River Kingdoms are used to beeing treated roughly, but they still want to protect their belongings. There are many, who believe that a sustainable government, even consisting of a group of mercenairies, can bring peace to the Kingdom. Others accuse them to rob the lands of their freedom and wealth for their own good (which is probably not far from the truth either). Marn himself claims to strive for a united kingdom following his leadership.
Their flag is a black bear paw on dark red, but i am too stupid to upload it.
