Runetech

Runetech, the Ancient Art of Rune-Infused Machinery: Runetech is an ancient magical practice that employs mystic runes to power and control various devices and magical items. These runes are not merely symbols but conduits of magical energy, each with unique properties and effects.

Rune Diversity

Runetech features various runes, each representing different elemental forces or magical effects, such as fire, ice, protection, or healing. Combining these runes can create complex and powerful effects in the devices they empower. The potential is limitless, restricted only by the forging of the proper rune. Much like verbal and somatic magic, using the right combination of gestures and incantations, rune magic is much like a language unto itself.

Crafting and Integration

Crafting with Runetech requires both magical and technical skill. Artisans must understand how to etch runes onto devices in precise configurations to harness and direct their energies effectively. Runetech has been used to enchant armor and weapons, empower constructs, and open portals. By using ancient runes, a drow attempted to recreate the Starfall event and pull a star out of the sky, sending in crashing into Golarion. Luckily this was averted, but the power of runetech seems to be unlimited in its potential for progress... or utter destruction.
Inventor(s)
As a child Kaitos Blackmoor studied magic and developed the concept of using magical runes rather than incantations to channel magic into devices. Other races such as dwarves had long studied this notion, and Kaitos was able to develop it into something else. He discovered ancient texts long believed vanished that spoke of runes that were able to empower massive constructs of destruction. He was able to use these as the building blocks for what he came to call "runetech".
