Yakfolk children begin getting their Horns at age 40. At age 80, they gain their ability to possess other creatures, and tend to practice this ability on small animals.

Social Structure

Yakfolk society had a caste system that followed the following:
Lotus Emperor: The head of the Yakfolk. Usually the first to be sacrificed to their god.
Sages: The advisers of the Lotus Emperor. They are also the ones who sacrifice the Lotus Emperor.
Priest: The leaders of specific Villages. They are also the sacrificers of dissenters and slaves.
Warriors: The soldiers and protectors of the Villiage. Also the ones who do the work the slaves can't do.
Slaves: The slaves of the Yakfolk. Usually another humanoid, and are the ones that do everything, like working the forms, tending animals, polishing weapons, and being sacrificed to the Yakfolk god.

Most Yakfolk live in Zouswiland and Uneror. Outside of the Material plane, they tend to live in the Elemental plane of earth.

Yakfolk are a very intelligent species, and wish to gain more intelligence to further the expansion of their species and god.

Naming Traditions

Yakfolk use names in their Tongue. They have a Male/Female first name, a Middle name (One that shows their part of the caste), and a Last name that is their Priest's first name. Priests and Lotus Emperors do not have Last names. Sages use their Emperors first name as their last name.

Yakfolk only have two beauty ideals:
1. it must be a Yakfolk
2. It must be fertile

Gender Ideals

Yakfolk warriors don't tend to be any gender, though Yakfolk female warriors tend to stay in the village to take care of and protect their children., and Yakfolk priests tend to be Female. Lotus Emperors are almost always male.

Courtship Ideals

Yakfolk use the information they have gathered to to "show off" to the others of the opposite sex. This is usually males flaunting their knowledge to females, although it isn't uncommon for a female to flaunt their knowledge. If the Yakfolk being flaunted at is impressed by the other's intelligence, they enter a relationship with them.

Relationship Ideals

When Yakfolk enter relationships, they tend to stay in this relationship for life. However, their loyalty to their spouse only goes as far as not entering a relationship with another one. They will kill their significant other and even their children if they believe it will appease their god.

Average Technological Level

Yakfolk do not use much technology, usually depending on slave labor to do tasks such as farming and common chores.

Common and Yikaria. Most Yakfolk speak common so they can command their slaves, who are usually Humans.

Common Etiquette Rules

Yakfolk speak to eachother only in their Language, never in Common. Doing so means that the Yakfolk does not respect the other Yakfolk, as doing so is speaking to them in the "Slave's Tongue."

Common Dress Code

Yakfolk must wear ornate armor and clothes with their Clan's insignia on them. If they do not wear these clothes, they are believed to be in the process of Dissenting, and must be sacrificed to appease their god.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Yakfolk gain their cultural heritage from their God, who gave them the ability to enslave creatures. All they must do to keep this ability is to sacrifice their leaders and slaves to him.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Yakfolk take out time in their day to do a daily prayer to their god. Any creature able to see this ritual and be able to return to civilization will usually sound different to someone else who did the same at a different time of day. Yakfolk prayers are contextual. They can have a ritual at any of the following times:
After a sacrifice: The priest will talk about how their god gives them their powers for these sacrifices. The Yakfolk will neil before the sacrificial altar
During one of their meal times: The priest will talk about how their god gave them the ability to enslave people lets them put food in their bellies. The Yakfolk will cover their faces and bow in front of the food.
After a daunting fight: The priest will talk about how their god is smiling upon them for their sacrifices, and rewarded them with victory in combat. The Yakfolk will raise their arms over their horns and look down at the floor with their eyes closed.
After a Yakfolk spy comes back with useful information: The Priest will explain that their god gave that Yakfolk in particular special expertise to hide among the lesser beings with his possession ability. The Yakfolk put their hands on the shoulder of the spy and cover their face with one hand.
At any random time: The Priest will gather the Yakfolk together and talk about anything above. The Yakfolk all cover their faces and neil to their priest.

Common Taboos

Yakfolk cannot worship any other "Lesser Deities." They can only worship their god.

History

In 100wr, the Faceless god created the Yakfolk, naming them the Yakaria. This race was made to enslave the world of Mortals. They were put onto what is now known as Zouswiland. They lived on the mountains of this country, and would posses and enslave any humanoid that came within range of their villages. They would attempt to build an empire, but would fail to do so when the Dragonborn where introduced into the continent of Godsen. So, some would move into the Elemental plane of Earth, and would enslave Earth elementals and Dao. This is where they gained their ability to summon earth elementals, through their comrades in the Plane of Earth. However, their lives would be quiet until the Calamity event. Most had to flee out of Zouswiland, forcing their way past the Wall of Bahamut and into Uneror, where these Yakfolk would settle down.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Yakfolk are feared by most races. They are referred to as "The Boogeyman" race. However, most races do not truly know what they look like, thanks of their seclusive lifestyles. Because of this, those people believe the Yakfolk are a kind species that has discovered a way to make a Utopia. It is only when the people who made the mistake of entering a Yakfolk village let their guard down, is when they feel the wrath of the Yikaria.
