The Bus

The Planar traveling Tavern.

Purpose / Function

The Purpose of the Bus is to allow everyone from every plane of existence to enjoy a drink. Because of a magical pacifying field inside the Pub, Creatures that hate each other, like Elves and Orcs, Demons and Devils, or even Mind Flayers and everyone else, will not fight each other while in the Pub. The only creature immune to the effect is Jenxin, the owner.

Design

The Inside of the room is rectangular, and has a second floor. The bottom floor is 30' by 25' by 20', and the top floor is 30' by 25' by 15'. The outside of the room is a false appearance, as the outside of the tavern looks like it's dimensions are 20' by 15' by 15'. At the back of the room, there are a set of stairs that goes to the second floor. The second floor has 4 different rooms, each room has a bed, a table, and a bucket for which to puke in.

Entries

There is a single entrance in the front of the building. The door isn't usually locked. While there are seemingly 12 Windows, only 2 of them work; the ones near the door.

Sensory & Appearance

When entering the room, the first thing you sense will be the smell. Depending on alignment, the smell is different. Good aligned creatures smell burnt apple pie dipped into vanilla extract, with a hint of steel. Neutral Creatures smell Beer-Stained boards and a campfire that is burning basil. Evil creatures smell cigarette smoke and the smell of a fillet steak currently being cooked.    Inside, the place is described as almost comically evil, with "sculptures" of screaming faces carved into the metal walls, and what looks to be a dead fire-newt petrified and trapped into the leftmost pillar. The tables are made from a form of hell rock, although a few new tables made from Abyssal Trees.   The lighting is optimal for most humans to be able to see well in the tavern.    The Bus tends to be really warm, and any form of attempting to cool off will fail no matter what.   Jenxin owns a music Box. This music box typically plays 3 different types of Instruments: Lute, Piano, and a Flute. The Instruments will play some background music most patrons will describe "Pleasant, but somewhat boring." However, when an important person walks inside, Jenxin will get one of his employees to play the grand piano inside one of the walls, which replaces the music box.

Denizens

The Bus has many different types of creatures that can inhabit it. Some of the most common creatures found in the Bus are usually Devils, Yugoloths, Githyanki, and usually 1 or 2 humans.   Some common folks found in the Bus are:   Vin: An Amnizu sent by Mammon to keep track of how many Valuables Jenxin as accumulated.   Krick: The Bearded Devil that hates his job so much that he simply stays on The Bus. He usually cuts pieces of his beard off to pay for food.   Yull: An Arcanaloth that tends to show up many times on the Bus, as he has placed a Teleportation Circle in the Bathroom. He typically will buy the "Shamarick Ulthra," a vegan dish made from raised Carrots, Apples, Mushrooms, and Pineapple. He makes sure that he orders them "Screaming during preparation."   Jenxin had also hired the following people to work in the Bus:   Shrak: The Lemure Waiter. Due to his memory loss, he doesn't know about anything, and only helps Jenxin because of promises of being a higher rank. He also plays the grand piano when it comes into play.   Catalya: The Succubus Waitress. SHe was hired for the sole reason of needing a second person to serve food and drink. Most Devils and Yugoloths do not have an active sex drive, so her being a Succubus is only really a coincidence.   Tren: The Gnoll Chef. He was hired because a Chef was desperately needed, and the Bus teleported in front of a Gnoll Warband, where they Kidnapped him and forced him into work.

Contents & Furnishings

There are about 10 tables. 8 are made of hell steel, with two being made of Wood found in Arcadia. Each table has 4 chairs made of Abyssal Growths and Balor Fur. While the last two wooden tables' chairs are made of Stone and Gnoll hide.

Valuables

In the back, a Barrel of Infinity is used to refill beers, and to make new concoctions. A Hidden Trap Door can be found here, and Jenxin will hide inside it's demi-plane to avoid the Fireball if the Pacifying field goes down. A Tapestry depicting Zariel's fall hangs on the rightmost wall (From the door).

Hazards & Traps

In the event of the Pacifying aura being destroyed, all doors will lock, and a glyph of warding holding a 9th level delayed blast fireball will activate, and will explode after a minute. It has the special addition of being the size of the tavern, and upon explosion will completely destroy the tavern, with the only thing being left being the Hidden Trap Door.

Special Properties

There is a Pacifying Aura around and inside the Tavern. The aura makes it impossible to actually attack each other, and that they cannot think of harmful thoughts. An aura of log life exists on here, where all creatures in the tavern begin aging 10X slower.

Alterations

Before 2017wr, the the Outside of the Bus looked like it was made by Hell Steel. However, afterwords, it looked like a regular tavern, with a thatch roof and stone walls, with a wooden door. However, the inside still looks the same, with the exception of a few new wooden tables. The inside is even bigger than the outside.

Architecture

While the Outside looks stone and thatch, the building is actually made of Hell Steel. There are 2 pillars inside the building made of stone found in the elemental plane of fire.

History

The bus was built in 960wr, and began operation in 965wr. The amount of times it has teleported is so vast that documenting all guests, so instead, most history is documenting important people and weird events:   12/14/1000wr: The Bus Teleports into Yeenoghu's layer of the Abyss. He attempted to destroy it, and ended up becoming a patron, selling 8 of his angel teeth in exchange for the drink Rotting Worms.   4/4/1040wr: The Bus Teleports into Mount Celestia. Bobran, the god of Chivalry, would enter and ask for the house special. The house special was Demon flesh cooked in the Mucus Aboleth. He commented that it tasted fine, although it was a little too chewy.   3/10/1100wr: The Bus Teleports into the Shadowfell. There, a hunger had entered the bus and attempted to eat everything. It took about an hour for Jenxin to remove the hunger, as he is the only creature immune to the pacifying aura.

Environmental Effects
Whenever the Tavern Plane shifts , the area around it can either become very Hot or Very Cold, depending on the Plane. Inside, it is always warm, and any attempt to cool down will always result in failure. The upstairs is always cold enough to be uncomfortable for anyone that isn't used to living in cold environments.
