Gruum-ok

Qualifications

In order to become Gruum-ok, one must challenge and defeat the current Gruum-ok in "Honorable Combat."   Honorable combat is when two warriors enter an arena surrounded by other Orcs. They choose their weapons, a selection of a Long Sword, a BattleAxe, a Warhammer, and a Halberd. (Depending on the camp, the Longsword is replaced by a great Sword, the Battle axe is replaced with a great axe, the warhammer is replaced with a maul, and the Halberd is sometimes replaced with a Lance. Sometimes spears, tridents, whips, and just shields are added into the weapon list.) After weapons are chosen, the Gruum-ok and the Challenger will fight to the death, with the winner being the tribe's Gruum-ok

Requirements

The only requirement is that the Gruum-ok cannot be an elf, an ogre, or a Hill giant. Ogres and Hill Giants are too unintelligent to lead the tribe, and elves are considered to treacherous by most orcs to be leaders.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

If enough Orcs believe the Gruum-ok is going to destroy the tribe, or if the tribe suspects the Gruum-ok is secretely an elf, they usually gather together to kill the current Gruum-ok, and whoever can rip his head off first becomes the new Gruum-ok.
