Personal history
Kek, also known as "The Absolver" and revered by mortals as the God of Shadows, is one of the most enigmatic and powerful demigods in the world of Alathor. Her origins are as tragic as they are unique, being the only demigod with two Stewards as parents. Born of a mortal woman seduced and discarded by Zun-3, Kek's existence was marked by both darkness and salvation.
Conception and Birth
Zun-3, in his relentless pursuits, seduced a mortal woman, who, unbeknownst to him, became pregnant by him. This woman, later known as The Nameless Mother, was discovered by Resh-2 in a dire state, broken and dying from the toll Zun-3 took on her body and the powerful child growing inside of her. Realizing that the unborn child held immense potential but was also causing the mother’s life to fade, Resh-2 took drastic action. To save both mother and child, Resh-2 transferred his own Resh Power to the woman, transforming her into Resh-3. This act not only saved their lives but also imbued the unborn child with immense power, making Kek more formidable than most other demigods.Childhood and Training
Raised in secrecy by Resh-3, Kek was groomed to harness her extraordinary abilities from an early age. Her training spanned centuries and included the arts of war, espionage, deception, and disguise. Resh-3 also instilled in her a deep understanding of philosophy, ethics, and morality, emphasizing the use of her powers as a peacemaker rather than an aggressor. Resh-3’s teachings were rooted in the belief that Kek's powers should only be wielded in times of dire need, to correct great injustices and to protect those who could not protect themselves. This rigorous upbringing shaped Kek into a being of profound depth and complexity. The Absolver
As she matured, Kek's reputation grew into that of a ghostly legend. Her interventions in the mortal realm were rare but always decisive and shrouded in mystery. Tales of her deeds spread across Alathor, painting her as both a savior and a specter. To many, she became a figure of awe and fear, a boogeywoman whose very name could cause even the bravest of men to shudder. Kek’s power was unmatched; she could confront and overpower even the most formidable of foes, including the Stewards themselves. Yet, her actions were guided by a strict moral code, and she remained an enigma, her true intentions known only to herself and the spirits she served.Present Day
In the present day, Kek continues her role as The Absolver. She operates from the shadows, her presence felt but rarely seen. The whispers of her interventions in the affairs of mortals and gods alike maintain her legendary status. Her ultimate goals and the extent of her powers remain a mystery to all but a select few. Kek's life is a testament to the complexities of power and morality. Her existence challenges the very nature of divinity and humanity, serving as a constant reminder that the line between hero and monster is often blurred.Relationship with the Stewards
Due to her unique status as a child of two Stewards, Kek's relationship with the divine hierarchy of Alathor is complex and often fraught with tension. While she shares a bond with Resh, her interactions with Zun and the other Stewards are marked by distrust and unease. Kek's power and her unpredictable nature make her a wild card in the delicate balance of power between the Stewards and the mortal world. Some see her as a potential ally, others as a threat to be contained or controlled.Role in the Prophecy
As the events of the prophecy unfold and Teric's role as the chosen one becomes clear, Kek's position in the grand tapestry of fate remains uncertain. Some believe that she will play a crucial part in the coming upheaval, either as a supporter of Teric's cause or as an obstacle to be overcome. Others speculate that Kek's true purpose lies beyond the immediate struggle for the fate of Alathor, and that her actions will have consequences that ripple through the very foundations of the world itself. Regardless of her ultimate role, Kek remains one of the most enigmatic and powerful figures in the history of Alathor, a demigod whose very existence challenges the established order and hints at the possibility of a world beyond the rule of the Stewards.
