Scribes of Ioun

Acolytes of the Knowing Matron, the Scribes of Ioun are keepers of lore and practitioners of philosophy, often acting as teachers, librarians, or guild accountants. While many of them work alone, following their chosen vocation, some of them are assigned tasks to protect certain places of great history and lore, such as abandoned ruins or important artifacts. Some Scribes even work in concert with sphinxes, who are strongly associated with Ioun and often act as her envoys on the surface world.

Structure

The Scribes of Ioun have no unified body of leadership, and instead follow their own personal path, seeking knowledge and the preservation of lore in accordance with the tenets of the Knowing Matron's faith. Becoming a Scribe is a matter of conducting deep and consistent prayer to the goddess, alongside honing one's skills and acting in accordance with the Knowing Matron's faith. Scribes who devote themselves to the Knowing Mistress earn a blessing, by which Ioun may guide them down their chosen path.

Public Agenda

The Scribes of Ioun often hold positions as librarians, researchers, and guild leaders, using their blessings of Ioun to guide their guildmates and allies through times of struggle, and to manage organizations unaffiliated with Ioun by use of knowledge earned and granted while working with Ioun's blessing.

Simply known as Scribes, Initiate Scribes, or High Scribes depending on their experience.
