Far Realm

The "Far Realm" is anything outside the known multiverse.

Localized Phenomena

Scholars and theologians have many theories about the Far Realm, but they struggle to understand it, as in reality it may be an entirely separate universe with its own physical and magical laws. Some warlocks embrace this struggle and form pacts with entities there. Those who have somehow experienced the Far Realm mutter about eyes, tentacles and horror.

During times when stray energies from the Far Realm have leaked into the planes of the known multiverse, matter warps into alien shapes that defy understandable geometry and biology. Aberrations such as mind flayers and beholders are rumored to have either come from the Far Realm or have been shaped by its strange influence.

History

Lost portals to and from the Far Realm may still exist somewhere in the known multiverse - marked by alien magic that mutates the area around them - but they are not commonly known.
