The Ta-Meri

In the old Ka Mi tongue tꜣ-mrj meant beloved land. It referred to all lands fed by the western rivers. A gift from the gods who blessed the Ka Mi and their children for all time. The rivers flooded in time with the seasons so regularly that irrigation was hardly needed. Edible plants grew even among the weeds. It was a paradise on earth.
For this reason the Elven Empire coveted it. They dammed the rivers to form artifical lakes. They slew the human inhabitants to make way for their own cities. They even stole the Ka Mi's gods and bound them to power machines whose purpose was to serve Elven decadence. The Ta-Meri now lies near death. Polluted river water must be filtered a dozen times by magicite powered machines to produce the food needed by the mindless Gentry in their mega cities.

Fauna & Flora

Crocodile- Carnivorous water reptile with a large mouth and powerful bite. Typically ambush drinking land-animals on the river banks.
Hippo- Semi-aquatic mammals with armored skin and enormous bulk. Live in large herds and are extremely aggressive despite being herbivores.
Numerous kinds of water fowl- Birds of all kind feast on the rivers bounty and roost on its shores.
River Fish- including bolti, barbels, catfish, and tigerfish.
