Polytheism

Polytheism is a belief in many gods, who each hold dominion over differing though sometimes overlapping portions of Creation. Polytheistic religions are typically restrained to worship only a few deities specific to though own home region. Foreign gods are usually held to be either their own gods in foreign guises or powers of a different land whose relationship to the native gods mirror the relations between their groups of worshipers.
Only rarely do individuals devote themselves entirely to a single god. These are typically priests or shamans who feel some direct connection to their god in voices, visions, or transcendent sensations.
