Garmgur
A region of mixed woodland and steppe, inhabited by the Cossacks. It is populated by enormous herds of bison, elk, and deer hunted by its many wolf packs and other stranger plains predators.
Fauna & Flora
Wargs- Wolves with the intellect of Kin, capable of speech. They are the preferred Cossack mounts, who converse with them as comrades.
Wolfyrs- a strange gryphon offshoot which resembles a cross between and eagle and wolf.
Badger- Short-legged omnivore with a striped face.
Bison- large humped bovines with shaggy fur and small horn. They list in enormous herds and migrate across the plains.
Coyote- Small canine predator which hunts rodents and other small animals.
Deer- Hoofed herbivores with antlers that live in the transitional zone between the Garmgur's plains and its border forests.
Eagle- Large raptors which hunt rodents and have been tamed by Cossacks for use in hunting and scouting.
Elk- Larger deer relatives which live on the open plains.
Groundhog- Fat burrowing rodent
Hares and Rabbits- Rodents with long ears and legs. Jump great distances and eat grasses, roots, and leaves.
Ibex- Wild goat relative.
Owl- Noctural raptors with very sensitive hearing.
Wolf- Pack canines commonly captured and tamed by the Cossacks
