Shinzo is banished by the gods

Metaphysical / Paranormal event

15

The gods exile Shinzo and his closest allies to the Twili Realm.

The fused shadows shrouded the triforce, and thus plunged Hyrule into a period of darkness. The gods would not stand for this. They sent new light to Hyrule, the light spirits, and had them break apart the shadows surrounding the triforce. They also exiled Shinzo to the Twili Realm.   Along with Shinzo, they also exiled his closest followers. These included his first born, the Zonai, and many people of every race. This did not include his newborn (protected by the goddess of time), Asteria (in Termina at the time), or Volga (in subrosia at the time).   The king of Hyrule was given back his throne.   In the Twili Realm, there was no means for sustaining life. Shinzo had to use his magic to sustain himself for short bursts, put all his followers in stasis, and transform their bodies into something that could handle the darkness. He realized, though, that no matter how much he changed them, they would never awaken from stasis without an external source of life--and his life was not suitable for that. So, Shinzo tried to rip his way through dimensions back into Hyrule to save his friends. However, the gods intervened again, sending Sol to the Twilight Realm.   Sol sealed Shinzo within the realm, but her light allowed life to exist in the Realm. The transformed followers became the Twili, and they lived their in the Realm peacefully. (With the exception of the issues caused by criminals and evil doers sent their from Hyrule).   Shinzo continued to watch Hyrule be destroyed by the Demon King over the ages. This sparked his desire to return to Hyrule and end the incarnation cycle.
