The Shining God
A religion native to the Eastern Shore regions, especially around The Dry Sea. Although this religion was supplanted as the major religion in these areas by the religion of the Forefathers, it is still worshipped. Some worshippers still live outside of the Eastern Shore. But they are often seen as pariahs and strange. The customs of this religion include worshipping of The Shining God who is said to ride a Harleq with a golden crest and hide of White. He was said to wear a cape made of gold thread, and was responsible for killing the evil spirit Nekarim who withheld the rains from Eteros for himself, and created the Dry Sea. The Shining God rode and killed Nekarim with a Spear made what can essentially be described as Silvere Glass adorned with Gold studded with Sapphires. He then brought the waters to the People of the Eastern Shore creating the bays that supply Tentria, Laurus, and Merchants Hope. He is also said to continue to share the waters in the annual wet seasons. Another legend tells of how the Jafinem hills were once lush with vegetation, but upon the death of a mortal girl who The Shining God had wished to marry, the land began to die because of its sadness. The desert began to overtake the hills, but The Shining God, overcome with grief, pushed back the desert and buried his love and wept on her grave, and from this grave sprang the Desert Fire Star.
Structure
Priests of this faith maintain small shrines and temples. Although major organization is non-existent.
