Witiria

Witiria is the nation-state within Pestilentia, governed by Caer Wydyr "Fortress of Glass". It is settlement within the Caer Wydyr of Pestilentia. It is a citadel contained within a heavily stylized and architectural marvel made out of varying forms of glass. It was created from a wasteland of spoil heaps and collapsed mining projects, considered to be land beyond repairing or habitability. With the use of Lithomancy, garbage can be transformed into many things.

Location

Similarly to Threatening Valley, Witiria architecture is heavily influenced by the disturbed land around it. One will notice upon entering the reaches of Witiria's enchantments, that it is very hot. Something is always burning, be it beneath the Earth in old mines, or controlled burns (or uncontrolled) on the surface.

It is located on the Northern end of the Morvoren Extreme Weather Zone, an area of western Glasson that is notorious for a highly unstable weather system. It is the Southwesternmost Caer in Pestilentia, and is very popular for Heavy Metal, Tetrahedra, and Brine materials as it is in abundance of them.

During dry seasons, the path to Ynys Wydyr "Island of Glass", the Northernmost island in the Morvoren Island is open for traversing, but floods during storms, creating an island. Ynys Wydyr is also governed by the same governing body of Witiria.

Founding of Witiria and Caer Wytyr

The Glass Fortress emerged from a biohazardous swathe of wasteland in Southern Pestilentia. The Caer (fortress) itself was cultivated by the glass magicians, who were a group from the Guild of Herdstalkers. Their mission? Cut off Heno expansion Northward and establish a base of power in its stead. Riganox, who participates in the Catu Samonii, is one of them, though she would later be disavowed from the Herdstalkers.

They purchased the island of Ynys Wytyr for a hefty price from the Karkebian Constellarium Court, the ruling dynasty in Karkebi that borders Pestilentia. That gave them the means to lay the groundwork for their settlement as well as forcing themselves into the aready bustling trade routes of the Morvoren Island.

The Myacoris are by far the most populous people of Pestilentia, often with Kubeleya or Vespulan communities providing protection (or demanding tribute for it). The culture is somewhat disorderly with everyone out for themselves.

The order which arose from the building of Caer Wytyr was a shock to many of the beings there, but minimal changes to the lives of citizens occurred. The loss in resources and land was negligible, as it had been thought unarable, uninhabitable before the arrival of the Herdstalkers.

Nowadays Witiria emerges as frightening settlement to encounter, created by hopeful scientists and skilled labourers who attempted to settle parts of Pestilentia, itself a giant wasteland of garbage and mining spoils from centuries before that washed up on the land.
