Viggora's Folly

Viggora's Folly is an old fortress built in the north western reaches of Morytania. In the modern day it is abandoned and infested with a variety of monsters that now call it home. While stories of what's happened to the fortress over the past few millennia aren't fully known, there is an old story that describes how the fortress first came to be. It is believed that the the fortress was first built in either the late years of the Second Age, or the early years of the Third Age. The story goes that was once a human warrior who swore allegiance to Ourokaza, named Viggora. Human's were commonplace in the armies of Ourokaza, however the efforts and capabilites of humans and other similar races were often overshadowed by the much more powerful entities in Ourokaza's army. It's known that Ourokaza enlisted many demonic entities for his armies as well as many other monstrous races, often not caring for what race they were, and instead only focused on whether or not they had the strength to perform.   Viggora would be continuously ridiculed by his compatriots for being a weak-fragile minded human, but he would refuse to let that hold him back. However even despite his many supposed achievments, at every corner, he faced mockery by demons and monsters alike. Viggora would fight fiercly on the battlefield for Ourokaza and would become one of the most notable Ourokazan heroes in history. It's believed that Viggora earned himself the title of "Champion of Flames", a title given by Ourokaza himself. As Viggora had proven his worth to many of his critics, many would be silenced, and instead would garner some following and renown within various demonic communities, sometimes being called an "Honorary Demon". As an added reward for his achievments, Ourokaza granted Viggora a fortress at a location of his choice. Viggora would choose the northwestern region of Morytania to show further triumph over the many Lehranist sects that he had single handedly defeated. Some would soon grow jealous and mock the fortress, but at this point Viggora was use to the constant criticism and to silence them, he would continuously build the fortress higher and higher over the course of his life.   There was one major flaw in Viggora's plan to build a grand fortress to quell the mockery though. Viggora had not accounted for the swampy land that his fortress was built on. And as the final floor was built, for Viggora to laugh at those who insulted him from. The fortress would begin to sink into the ground- as the ground could not uphold such an intense weight. Many of his dungeons would collapse completely, and those that didn't would be flooded. With approximately half of the fortress sunk, his critics would only be reignited ten-fold, as many would mock his idiocy of building a fortress where he did. "Viggora's Fortress" would than be renamed to "Viggora's Folly". It's unknown what happened to Viggora after his fortress sank but the story of his fortress is one that causes many to mock Viggora's foolishness even to this day. Many believe that deep within Viggora's Folly, lies many hidden treasures dating back all the way to the era of it's creation, but the monsters that now dwell there have made it difficult to delve too far into it's deepest recesses.
