The Park family of Joseo is based on the real life Park family that ruled Silla Korea a long time ago. In this history, she was the oldest of three daughters born to a peasant family, in Joseo but being ruled by the cruel emperor of Huanjing. When the intrepid brothers Tobias, Dmitri, and Ognjen Kumiega arrive in the empire, seeking success and fortunes to bring back to their families on a trade expedition, Eun is originally skeptical of these foreigners. When the youngest brother Tobias shows his humility and kindness to her, though, she warms up to him and teaches him parts of her culture and family history, as her family was overthrown from their thrones only a century before. Eventually, he helps her and her family escape the emperor's cruel treatment under the lanterns of a war memorial feast, under the cover of a solar eclipse, and they arrive safely in Buntunia and start a new life - and a new kingdom.

Motivation
Her primary aim, always, is to support her family. She was working the fields because her parents were getting old and her younger, only brother was far too young to help. She yelled at the Emperor who almost ran her over with his caravan because he threatened her family's land. She teamed up with Tobias because he promised to help her family, and she taught him about her culture because to her, culture was intrinsically connected with family and so it was important to her. She's the reason the graves of New Dangun exist - respect for your ancestors - and the reason the initial version of the Sejm in Karanya featured elements of Josunese government.

Coming from a rural part of the former land of Silla-Josun, her family is her world. Upon falling in love and breaking out of one rigid social hierachy and into another, she has learned to adapt. Luckily, Tobias's parents are sweethearts.
