Rakel Harid

A senior member of the Cult of the Elder One, Rakel was one of the first victims to be enthralled by the Whisperer after its arrival in the Styes (LE female human assassin). She fell victim to the Whisperer while trailing a target through the Styes. Now completely dominated and transformed by the aboleth, Rakel must soak her slimy, transparent skin in water every ten minutes to avoid excruciating pain.
Rakel is cunning and clever. If combat breaks out here, she remains hidden in the water while the skum do the fighting. She makes a Dexterity (Stealth) check in an attempt to hide. As long as she remains unnoticed, her first attack can still benefit from the Assassinate trait after the first round of the fight.
Development

On the Whisperer's orders, Rakel offered her services to Mr. Dory. But her actual purpose here is to keep an eye on Dory, whom the Whisperer does not trust. Dory suspects this subterfuge, of course, and so he keeps Rakel confined to this compartment. Because she has no loyalty to Dory, she might stay hidden in the murky water if the skum are dispatched quickly. Then after everyone else leaves the ship, she'll eventually make his way back to the temple of Tharizdûn to rejoin her master. See the "Temple of Tharizdûn" section in part 4 for more information.
