Ground Vehicle

A ground vehicle, is a self-propelled vehicle, commonly wheeled, that does not operate on rails (such as trains or trams) and is used on or close to the ground.   The vehicle propulsion is provided by an engine or motor, usually an internal combustion engine, an electric motor, or a steam engine.   These vehicles have a variety of roles and purposes, be it transporting goods and people, or used as weapon platforms in combat zones.   Ground vehicles serve as more versatile mounts that can be used to traverse long distances quickly and, in some cases, give an edge during combat.

Vulnerabilities And Immunities

Most ground vehicles are vulnerable to lightning, fire and explosive damage. This means that these damage types are doubled upon a hit. Ground vehicles have a total immunity to psychic and necrotic or poison damage, given that they are neither organic nor have any kind of inherent intelligence. However, the driver or passenger(s) can still be damaged by these types if the yare targeted and the vehicle is not armored.   Armored vehicles usually have resistance to non magical piercing, slashing and bludgeoning damage on top of the usual vehicle resistances. The driver and passenger(s) of an armored vehicle are also protected from these damage types as long as they remain inside the vehicle. These bonuses usually come at the cost of speed and/or maneuverability.

disabling and destroying

Ground vehicles have HP and an AC just like any character or monster would. When a vehicle reaches 0 HP it will be disabled. This means that it cannot move or perform actions. A vehicle that has been disabled can be repaired by a mechanic or artificer. A non mechanic or artificer character may attempt to repair a ground vehicle if they have mechanic's tools and pass an INT check of 17.   If a vehicle's HP goes too far below 0, it will explode. Each vehicle has a different point at which it will explode, and how much damage it will do. For example, a civilian car may explode after reaching -10 HP and deal 2d10 explosive damage to everything in a 10 ft radius, whereas a tank will explode after reaching -30 HP and deal 4d10 explosive damage to everything in a 20 ft radius. The tank's extra fuel and munitions cause the increase in damage and radius.

repairing damage

To repair a ground vehicle, one must either use Mechanic's Tools or take the vehicle to a shop/garage for 1 day.   Using mechanic's tools is more convenient and can be done in the field, however results may vary and it may not be able to fully repair a vehicle. Taking it to a shop or garage will always fully repair any damage done to the vehicle, usually at a monetary cost. If you are working with the Republicans, they will allow you to use their garages and shops for free, though you must be in an area with a Republican military base.
