After fleeing Til Formen'ya, the Feloran Imperial Army retreated to Soren, hoping to regroup while also fortifying the Royal Palace and protecting Emperor Adresin. However, General Glognozz Redfang of the Shobob leads a force of 3000, made up of Orcs from several tribes that he has united in arms against the Empire, breaking the city walls. He and his forces lay siege to the city and it's inhabitants for 5 days.
