Timekeeping and Calendars

The most commonly used calendar across the world is the Oecumenical (sometimes called the Enzimian) calendar, which is a development of the earlier Ulgarian calendar. The Ulgarian calendar was adapted from earlier Horil calendars and instituted in the Duekmenian Empire in 34 CA by Ulgary the Great, placing year 1 at the start of his father, Bogov the Magnanimous' rule. This calendar subsequently spread beyond the empire and former empire after its collapse.   By the 26th century the drift caused by having leap days every four years had caused the date to drift about 20 days from the seasons.   Most Furanist countries simultaneously adopted the name change to the fifth month to Hierarch to honour Cónsulo.   Calendar Year Systems: The first, and most commonly used common calendar is the Epochal Calendar, which uses the above calendar, and begins counting from the rediscovery of elven magic by Bogov the Magnanimous, ipso facto in 1 CA. The next most common calendar is the Posto Relinquo calendar, which begins from Hair of Tunis' flight from Tunis to Enzim, which uses the same system of months, but begins at a different year 1. The Then traditionally use a lunisolar calendar that defines months between new moons and uses periodic intercalary months to adjust for solar years.
