Cirelli

Cirelli (ꛥꛌ꛰ꛖꛜ, Othian: Кірêльу, Darnian and Ponian: Кірêлі, Illedrian: Чірêлі) is a traditional southeastern Naganian style of poetry. They are typically long narrative poems of extraordinary characters performing extraordinary deeds in the age before the Caliemhan, often in lands far beyond Nagain. Cirelli is often called "Naganian epic poetry" due to its structural and thematic similarity to Oecumenian epics. It is written in trochaic pentameter, with four trochees (short-long) followed by cretic (short-long-short) per line. Unlike Oecumenian epic poetry, however, which places particular emphasis on oral retelling, Cirelli has an emphasis on the written form, with the aesthetic design of the words on the page (written in Shandian) being considered part of the art and informing the flow and content of the poem.
