War of the Scales: The Shattered Crystal

In the year 715 W.R, well into the full swing of the War of the Scales, and long after they perceived to be neutralized. A contingent of Crystal Imperium soldiers undertook a mission they had no hope of returning from. Infiltrating the ranks of the Aureate Imperium while the bulk of the force was occupied to the south, these soldiers snuck into the vaults of the Aureate to retrieve an artifact of great power, and fought their way out, slaying any who stood against them. In the end they were succesful, as once they were beneath the open sky they activated a strange device which transported the artifact in a flash to an unknown location. However it seems these dragonborn knew fully well that none of them would be surviving, as they were taken down one by one, despite seeming to prioritize flight after that point. This remains one of the many mysteries from the War of the Scales.
