Invokers Rite

“My boy, if you had ever seen the Ritual of the Invokers, you’d never been able to unsee it. The beauty and majesty of it… is awe inspiring.” Talorean Duster
In the land of eternal twilight, a ritual is performed that Sordeans encourage other tribes to attend, their other rituals they respectfully dissuade any from viewing as they are sacred to their people alone and outsiders are not tolerated.

Night Rainbows

The land of Numis lies in perpetual twilight as the sun never rises above the landscape, the sky will lighten more during winter months but less so during summer months, if such seasons actually occur. To the other tribes, the land of Numis has only one season: Winter. Never does the ice or snow melt, they are in perpetual ice and darkness to outsiders.   To the Sordeans, it is their home, and their innate magic allows them to live there unhindered as they are immune to cold and heat giving them the ability to live in the northern lands, the main part of their land is called the Twilight Icelands where resides their capital, City of Dreams.   During their darkest months of summer, the Sordeans perform their ritual, the Invokers Rite.
“For a dreary people, the Sordeans Invokers Rite is a masterful display of their magical mastery.” Azurian Elementalist

Ritual

All Sordeans have an innate ability to heat their hands until they are glowing and red hot but some with exceptional magic can heat their hands and extract the energy into an orb of energy between their hands, they are known as an Invoker of Tabris. No woman can have this ability as all Invokers of Tabris are male. Using this ability, Invokers can imbue crystals and gems with this energy and all tribes use a crystal orb called a Lumen which is crafted by Taloreans and imbued by Sordean Invokers to provide light.   Using this method of transferring the energy orb, Invokers will imbue crystal orbs and during the Invokers Rite when the Aurora Borealis is strongest in colors and light, they will launch their orbs into the sky with their magic of Telekinesis into various patterns while Halo's use their magic to bend light and change the coloring of the orbs.
“Never have I seen such displays of talent in displaying our magic, art of rainbows I call it” Zarythian Grand Spirit Walker
They use this time of year because of the summer Aurora Borealis is strongest during their third month of summer and the backdrop of the night sky awash in natural colors with dancing orbs of different colors, is a masterful display of chromatic colors. One of reasons the Sordeans land is nicknamed ‘Land of Night Rainbows’.

"They have made light into magic, the beauty of the gift lives on" Elorian
The Invokers Rite allows newly tested and elected Invokers to join in the ritual reconfirming what Tabris gifted them millennia ago when he established their tribe. The Rite is to honor the memory of Tabris and to reveal new Invokers to the Sordeans as a people, it is a great honor to be gifted as an Invoker of Tabris as few have this ability in their land.
Invoker Election

Invokers are tested by an Elder Invoker to check their ability to generate an orb of energy successfully, they must have the strength to sustain the orb and not let it dissipate.

Land of Numis

Unique to the lands in the north and the Hinterlands beyond is no moon is ever seen, the only light in the sky is the Aurora Borealis and stars.

“To make the display grand to the point of absurdity, these Invokers are surrounded by their elite warriors, it is a beautiful ritual, don’t get me wrong but it is all the more daunting as the warriors stand still as statues, never moving during the whole display” Gidean Darkstrider Warrior

As a display of might, Sordeans stand in a very large half circle out on the frozen tundra, with their Invokers in the inner half of the ring, a secondary half ring of Halo’s at every other interval from the inner ring of Invokers and the final outer ring is comprised of their elite warriors: The Crimson Warriors in blood red breastplates worked in patterns like the coloring of their armor is swirling liquid. Sordeans dress in light clothing, clothing that barely covers their bodies as no cold can affect them, but their Crimson Warriors are fully armored for this ritual display. A daunting reminder as all Saharians know of the prowess of the Crimson Warriors in the Twilight Land.
