Gottfried Von Everec II

Magus Supreme Securitas, Councilor Gottfried Von Everec

Gottfried Von Everec II currently serves as a Councilor and Magus Supreme Securitas for The Merlinian Council.
In this role he advises Prime Merlinian Miranda De Loch, oversees Camelot's contacts with security agencies and governments in the outside world, and ensures all defenses of the castle (magical and otherwise) are always prepared to withstand any assault.
He has ascended to this role after the Morganian Revolts, some in Camelot say he is the only reason the castle wall's were never breached, and the AFL was forced to go into hiding.
As a brilliant strategist and proven commander of both men and the mystical arts, he has gained the trust of the Prime Merlinian and most council members.
Though there were still some councilors who resisted to his ascendance to Magus Supreme within Camelot, largely due to the fact he is the father of the infamous traitor and Anarchomancer, Friedrich Von Everech.
All resistance was quickly and effectively quelled, either by bribery, a show of strength, or solid logical arguments.
Gottfried seems older than his actual age.
Whispers in the castle say he never fully recovered from the betrayal of his most beloved son, who he saw as the true heir to the Von Everec name.
His true ambitions and aspirations aren't known, as he is very skilled in the art of hiding his emotions.
Some say he covets Miranda's seat, others believe he wishes to restore his family to their golden age, and some others still think he has more sinister thoughts, as he has no shortage of enemies envious of his position of power in the order.
His close and secretive contacts with outer governments and covert agencies, as well as his informal position as Miranda's spymaster does not add much to the amount of trust some in the castle hold towards him.
However, so far he has proven himself to be an earnest defender of Camelot and the Merlinian Order.
Like his ancestors he's a mage with specifically strong affinity to the occult, and those who speak against him dare not do so in front of him.
They all remember what happened to the last mage who did.
