Ilyssae wears durable adventuring clothes fit for long stints of travel, and carries many supplies for cartography. Her prized possession is a notebook containing her map of the Athawin Prairies, ever-expanding as she glues new pages to the map.

Personal history
Ilyssae was born into a family of wealthy, private Wood Elven cartographers in the city of Waylon's Gate. From a young age, she was obsessed with maps, all things cartography, and exploring the world. As soon as she was old enough, she joined the Cartographer's Guild and began to aid in the exploration and creation of maps. Her main area of expertise was in translating existing maps from Kenerese into her native Elvish, and illustrating beautiful maps as her artistic skills improved. But her wanderlust never left her, and she soon grew tired of staying in Waylon's Gate and working for someone else. After many years of hard work, she decided that she would rather wander out into the world and make her own maps & forge her own path. So, in the search for uncharted lands, she sailed south to the Athawin Prairies, in a journey to map what lies beyond the mountains in South Athawin.
Employment
Ilyssae joined the Kenereth Cartography Guild at 16, and remained on the payroll for 20 years before deciding to travel south to the Prairies.

Motivation
Ilyssae is motivated by exploration and new knowledge. She wishes to uncover new lands yet unmapped, and share the spoils of the knowledge with the world. She knows that the world will benefit from learning more about itself, and so strives to allow for such knowledge to get out into the world. She also just enjoys exploration for its own merit, looking to see the sights of the world, both mapped and unmapped.
