Palace of Chains
The Palace of Chains is a sinister fortress located in Malbolge, the Sixth Hell. This foreboding structure is built from dark stone and iron, with its exterior adorned by massive, pulsating chains that seem to writhe with a life of their own. The palace is an embodiment of despair and corruption, reflecting the twisted nature of its master, Gargoth.
Upon entering the Palace of Chains, one is immediately struck by the oppressive atmosphere. The corridors are narrow and winding, lined with cells known as the Cells of Despair, where prisoners languish in isolation, their cries muffled by the thick stone walls. These cells are designed to break the spirit and will of those trapped within, creating an aura of hopelessness.
At the heart of the palace lies the Bloodstone Pit, a large, circular battle arena with a 75-foot radius. The arena’s floor, ceiling, and walls are made of stone, all stained with dried blood. The 20-foot high ceiling towers above, casting long, ominous shadows. The arena features four heavy iron doors, adding to the sense of entrapment and dread.
The entire palace exudes a sense of dread and decay, serving as a testament to Gargoth’s cruelty and his desire to spread corruption and chaos. The Palace of Chains is a place where hope is crushed, and only the strongest or most cunning can survive.

The Bloodstone Pit
A vast circular arena, its stone walls rising 20 feet high, creating an echo chamber for the distant sounds of suffering. The floor beneath your feet is cold and hard, slick with dark, dried blood that has seeped into the very cracks of the stone. The air is thick with the metallic tang of old blood and sweat. In the dim light, you can see four imposing iron doors, each set into the stone at the north, south, east, and west points of the arena. These doors are the only exits from this chamber, their surfaces marked with infernal runes and the scars of many battles. High above, the stone ceiling looms, making the space feel even more enclosed and oppressive. The walls, too, bear the marks of violence—scratches, dents, and more bloodstains. This is a place where hope comes to die, a pit of despair and brutality where only the strongest or most cunning survive.Architecture
