Mercham
The Mercham is a 2-masted merchant ship owned by the League of Merchants and captained by Haffran Spicer, a seasoned sailor with many years of experience on the high seas. The ship is a sturdy vessel, designed for long voyages across the treacherous waters of the sea.
The hull of the Mercham is broad and sturdy, with a rounded bow and stern that help the ship to navigate through rough seas. The ship's deck is high above the waterline, providing ample space for the crew to work and store cargo. The deck is made of solid wood planks, weathered by the elements and the wear and tear of a life at sea.
The Mercham is rigged with square sails, which are designed to catch the wind and propel the ship forward at high speeds. The sails are attached to wooden spars, or yards, which are mounted on the mainmast and foremast. The ship's rigging is made up of strong ropes and cables, which are used to support the masts and sails.
The Mercham is a reliable and trustworthy vessel, well-maintained by its crew of experienced sailors. Under the skilled leadership of Captain Haffran Spicer, the ship has weathered many storms and encountered numerous challenges on its journeys across the sea.
Interior
As you step onto the merchant sloop, you see a narrow staircase leading down to the lower deck. The lower deck is divided into several compartments, each with a small porthole for ventilation. One of the compartments catches your eye, as it appears to be a sleeping quarters for the crew and has eight hammocks hung from the ceiling. The hammocks are made of rough canvas and are suspended from hooks attached to the wooden walls. In the center of the lower deck is a small table and benches, where the crew can eat and relax during their downtime. The walls of the compartment are lined with crates and barrels, likely used for storing supplies and equipment. As you move back up to the main deck, you see a small galley where the ship's cook prepares meals for the crew. The galley is small and cramped, with a stove, pots and pans, and a small table for meal preparation. The smells of cooking food waft up from below, filling the air with a pleasant aroma. Overall, the interior of the ship is compact and utilitarian, with every available space used for storage or living quarters. Despite its small size, the sloop is well-maintained and appears to be in good condition for extended voyages at sea.Propulsion
