Jack-o'-Lantern

Jack-o'-lanterns are fey spirits that take on the form of pumpkins and other large vegetables with creepy faces carved into them. When they are motionless, they are nigh indistinguishable from common carved pumpkins, but when approached, a fairy fire flickers inside them and they start to hover. If agitated, they will shoot out flames at their aggressors, and killing them results in a fiery explosion. Powerful hags or evil archfeys often use them to protect their lairs.
