The Missive
Deliver the DollmakerIntervention Overview
Penitents Sennic, Kharesen, and Immeron were dispatched to Vexley House--a mansion in its own pocket dimension. It seems that Kasdarian Vexley, a well-known practitioner of magical sciences, especially those that relate to constructs and constructed intelligence--has fallen under the influence of Talgron the Tetherkeeper., a demonic entity with ties to The Nether. Caelus--one of Vexley's many sentient creations--has petitioned Brelvonis for aid to find Kasdarian in the hopes of freeing them from this demon's influence. To do so, Caelus needs the Penitents to protect them as they navigate the chaotic energies now running amuck through the mansion. As they searched for Kasdarian, they encountered dangers sent forth by Talgron, which included his own version of patchwork minions, "horror" jack-in-the-boxes, giant stuffed demons, and a truly terrible quartet of woe. As they navigated these obstacles, they also encountered more of Vexley's creations, "siblings" of Caelus, who entreated them to "deliver the maestro" from the Tetherkeeper's dark machinations. The Penitents and Caelus eventually made their way to an occult library within the mansion. There, they discovered both Talgron and Vexley, with Vexley in the process of being turned into a doll in a perverse mockery of their own creations. The Penitents took the fight to Talgron, but the demon proved to be a formidable foe. Fortunately, Vexley was able to summon whatever remained of their magical power and blast Talgron with radiant energy, harming him just enough for the Penitent to banish him from this realm. Unfortunately, that effort sapped the remainder of Vexley's strength. The "maestro" had just enough time to tell their creations that they were all "perfect" before transforming into doll form. Vexley House, and those that dwell within it, however, was safe, and this Intervention was accomplished.Salient Details
