STATIC 45: Strange Encounters in the Bonefields

General Summary

Wherein The Blinkertons found themselves thrust into a series of strange encounters as they ventured deeper into the Bonefields.

The Skybridge

The Interdimensional Blinkerton Detective Agency continued to move through Bonefields, eventually making their way to the remains of the massive "skyclad" Skybridge. There, they encountered Third Watcher Islay, who explains that she could power up the Skybridge's engine, which will have the "Crystal Matrix" needed to wayfind to Kendilziz, the World Forge, but she requires assistance. The crystal powering the matrix has been shattered and its shards scattered nearby. She is unable to get them herself, as she is bound to the wreckage of this once-airborne vessel. The Blinkertons agreed to retrieve the shards.

Finding the Shards

This proved easy enough, if facing down creatures known as marrowclaws, marrowwings, bone horrors, onyx magistrates, and dimensional shamblers is easy. Combat with those groups resulted in reclaiming two shards. A further shard was gained through an encounter with a belligerent beholder named Xorvax the Maw of Echoes. The paranoia and distrust emanating from this eyeball'd entity could have easily resulted in more violence except for Sharkbait's unique performance of "Steamball Wizard" completely taking the creature by surprise. It gave its shard to Sharkbait. Time will tell what it wants in return.

And That's Where We Left It

3 of 4 shards have been recovered. Our heroes will endeavor to reclaim the last during our next session.
