Water Magic in Gates of Eternity | World Anvil

Water Magic

Water Magic is a type of elemental magic that focuses on manipulating water and (in case it isn't in the environment) creating it from moisture in the air (which generally raises the mana requirement for spells). It is generally considered to be most attuned to magicians with stable and orderly-set personalities. It is also considered the most versatile type of elemental magic, as it can still pack quite a punch, while being much better in terms of defense.   On the other hand its versatility and general strenght means that it requires quite a bit of focus to learn, making it a magic used mostly by pure elementalist rather than among magicians that mix schools from various groups. It has also a significant disadvantage of dealing blunt or sharp damages, rather than more magical one, making even mundane armours a quite decent method of defense against it.

Subschools of Water Magic

Pressure Magic [SP] - A higher level of water magic, that uses great ammounts of control and magic power to 'compress' water to a great degree. This changes it into easy to bend (though it still requires concentration and mind strenght to control) material with hardness of steel. Deadly both when formed into sharp edges and when used as blunt weaponry. Most of the spells of this school are similar to water magic as a whole, but there are also a few 'cutting rays' capable of slicing through iron at ease.   Hyperpressure Magic [SP] - Hyperpressure Magic is a very rare subschool of water magic, created in late Imperium of Karadia that barely managed to spread to this day. It generally works by compressing water via pressure magic and then compressing the space itself via something similar to a spatial magic. Effect? Massive increase in piercing and slicing through things. A spell of this subschool can pierce a titan sheet from a dozen meters... or slice an opponent into two halfs. It can also be used as nigh impenetrable shielding magic.
