Imperial Ministry of Religious Affairs

Officially, an Imperial Ministry of Religious Affairs is merely an organization created to oversee the vast chaos of religious 'affairs' in the Imperium of Karadia, by ensuing that accepted religions have enough money to work and pray to their respective gods for the wellbeing of Grand Empire as a whole.   In fact, however, Ministry has MUCH greater deal of power and competences that easily made it one of the most influential and powerful group of interests within the imperial government. That serves as an intermediary between the Grand Emperor and a variety of religious organizations and groups of great importance.

Structure

As most imperial organizations – and all imperial ministries – it is generally a part of provincial structures, with local departments build around residences of local governors, in most cases in a small, separated district of some major local city. There local officials reside and try to ensure religious peace on the territory of their province.   Their headquarters lie in Falon-nir, as all ministries. Their minister is considered a part of Imperial Council, making him one of few most powerful and influential people in all Karadia (if not in a whole world). They are appointed by Grand Emperor himself, naturally.

Public Agenda

They oversee local Imperial Temple – making sure that there are no heresies brewing around that could threaten the peace (not to mention offending Gods). They are aware of all places of worship that need to be registered in their archives (with even Black Pantheon in most cases informing them of their 'secret' lairs.   They at least try to hold peace around, by ensuing that there are always enough religious zealots to purge out local Pandaemonium influence, and to counter other 'religious' problems. For example Old Gods, daemonic possessions, daemonic incursions, while also safekeeping religious artifacts of many faiths - with strict division from Imperial Magic Guild and Imperial Ministry of Magic given to avoid magicians 'meddling' with those artifacts too much, drawing ire of their Gods and general displeasure of offended believers.   It also tries to be mediator between faiths existing in the Imperium, with for example relations between inritian hierarchy and Imperial Religion in the borderlands between being extremely delicate and potentially volatile.

Assets

Just as all Ministries, Ministry of Religious Affairs possess very few direct 'assets' - beside the authority of Imperium itself, of course.   Instead it can call forces of Imperial Army - especially 101st. Infantry Division and Imperial Army's Auxilliary but if they fail, the Army itself is called.   Its also 'directly controlled' assets are Abyssal Knights and Novemberists, two Imperial Knightly Orders that are generally considered subservient to Imperial Ministry of Religious Affairs due to their main focus - persecuting war against Pandaemonium.   It also is at least theoretical superior and overseer of Palace of Prophets, that also serves as an intermediary between Imperator and Imperial Temple, in a way also being its superior.
