SC2020 - Rolling Reactors

The fusion core reactors are the foundation of the great cities on the Bright Side, more so than any alien structures they are build up around. However, since electricity was hard to transport, due to lack of current carrying materials, the disparity between the great cities and the surrounding land became extreme. Futuristic technologies exists in the great cities, whereas the other towns are left with early industrial technology at best, many even less than that. A quasi-solution was found in the Rolling Reactors. At a time, where a semi stable relationship had been established between the city-states of the bright side it so happened that a new fusion core reactor was found - and most of the surrounding hull of the ship remained intact. All of the city states wanted the fusion core reactor for themselves, and no/one would let the others have it. Nor were anyone interested in new city states forming, as that would effectively diminish their dominion. It even got to the point where some suggested destroying the newly found Fusion Reactor Core. Luckily, a different, altruistic solution was found - the rolling reactors. The newly found fusion core was maintained in the hull and it was turned into a wagon. This meant that outer towns could request power for their harvest season or when they needed power reliant machinery for certain projects. As time went by various batteries were also set up in some towns, which allowed them to be charged, when the rolling reactors come by and let them use their power over time for more menial, but important things. While the rolling reactors travel under heavy guards, guards that require food and shelter as per custom, that is a small price to pay for jumping centuries ahead in technology for a time. Furthermore, the arrival of the Rolling Reactors also harolds the beginning of a community project, where everyone works together. Often these projects have been forworned, but a date is never specified until it is certain that the rolling reactor will or has arrived, as the project cannot be done without it.
