SC2020 - Hat

Out in the plains it is common to wear at hat and to use said had as a means to greet one another. One would simply tip once had as a way to say hello. However, this simple greeting has been transformed into a sophisticated way of recognizing fellow members of the resistance. It is common to adorn once hat with some sort of accessory, be this a fine piece of jewelry or just a straw. A member of the resistance would ensure that such a adornment was pointing in one direction or the other (it has been agreed upon that for straws, flowers, and other such things one should look or infer which way the bottom end is pointing). When greeting an oncommer one then uses the hand indicated by the direction of the the oncommers hat, and rotate ones hat slightly in the direction indicated by ones own hat. As a final fail safe, if engaging in conversation one should ensure to scratch ones chin after which the other should adjust their chin strap. If this procedure is followed you know that you are talking to a fellow member of the resistance.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

There is a craves of roughly similar size as the circumference of your head. You put your head in that hole and the shade extending from the sides of the craves will limit the solar radiation your face and neck receive.

Significance

There is a bit of a problem with the rebellion greeting as it does rely on hats and preferable hats with chin straps. While these are common and worn by every farmer, if the rebellion wants to spread beyond farmers, they will need to find a new way to identify eachother.
