Southern Shore

The Southern Shore is a small region on the south of Valessia. As well as having the only sand in the region, it is home to a small ork enclave known as the Soul Duchy.

Geography

The Southern Shore is a long stretch of land marked by a long sandy beach. As mentioned, it is the only region with a large amount of sand as such. From the west, Valessia's signature forests peak in. It is divided from Valvinnia by a large rocky hill known as Orkstone.

History

The Southern Shore, much like most of the south of Valessia, was never truly settled. Besides spirits driving mortals away, it was never a worthwhile place to truly call home. However, it was the first place where the orks had made contact with Valessia. As they came on their boats, they sensed that it was strong with aura, stronger even than their own home isles. Recognizing this as a spiritual place, they decided to only settle on the northern coast. The Soul Duchy is where weavers from Orkas Isles come to make a pilgrimage, meditate, and learn in close proximity to the spirits.
