Zomborg

"Zomborg" is a catch-all term for a creature created from the dead body of a human or animal. The body is re-animated using cybernetic attachments and/or biotech implants or grafts. Every zomborg is different, depending on the base creature used to form it and that technological attachments added to it. On occasion, several different bodies might be stitched together to form a single zomborg creation.   Usually, a basic comptuer AI system guides the creature's activities and responses. As the technology of integrating AI and biotech to dead bodies is not well understood, zomborgs are not capable of actual conscious thought, and can only carry out specific programmed routines. They are most often used as weapons, as they are extremely difficult to "kill" due to their bodies being technically already dead. To fully stop a zomborg, their computer guidance system must be destroyed, and that is usually heavily armoured on the inside of the creature's body.   Some zomborgs might be manually controlled from a remote location. On these occasions, the living person controlling the zomborg can provide it with a higher semblance of intelligence. However, these zomborgs can be easily countered by disrupting the signal between the zomborg and its controller. More frequently, a zomborg will have a link to its creator that allows the creator to see what is happening and possibly override its actions, but the majority of its actions will be guided by the computer AI.
