Avian Maiden
Basic Information
Anatomy
Creatures who has both avian and human physical characteristics, and with sentience and complex intelligence. Generally speaking Avian Maidens have the head of a human, and the body, claws, and wings of a bird. Within the Avian Maidens there are several different kinds and each of these kinds resemble one specie of bird such as eagles and ravens.
While they are physically incapable of creating things similar to humans, they are highly intelligent and curious. They are notorious for their hoarding behaviors, collecting or stealing things or even living things back to their nests due to their intelligent and curious nature.
Genetics and Reproduction
Avian Maidens are all females. They reproduce through parthenogenesis, the act of reproducing without fertilization, by laying eggs with the same genetic makeup as themselves.
Although a partner is not required for reproduction, the majority of Avian Maidens seek romantic partners among themselves before laying eggs. An Avian Maiden will often seek its own kind when it comes to choosing a partner, but couples of different kinds may form as well.
The methods of raising a chick varies greatly, some raising a single chick or a cluster of chicks together, or a single Avian Maiden raising her chick by herself even if she has a partner.
