Fall of Altan Khot

The Fall of Althan Khot began on the 9th of Galmore, 3 A.o.R. The red dragon Zaviorth secretly killed Anthos, an ancient golden dragon that helped the Golden Alliance since before its inception. After which, Zaviorth gathered most of the leaders of the Golden Alliance, and slaughtered them all. Zaviorth summoned an army of kobolds, wyverns, and half-dragons to take Altan Khot. By the end of the next day, the city's garrison had fallen. Various guerilla groups formed in an attempt to fight off the hordes or aid survivors, but they quickly learned that they were fighting a losing battle. By the 19th of Galmore the remaining survivors attempted to flee to the south. Their escape was covered by a diminished group of adventurers and city guards. As Zaviorth flew towards the retreating refugees to burn them with dragon fire, two golden dragon wyrmlings appeared out of nowhere and covered their escape. One was killed in the fight with Zaviorth, and the fate of the other is unknown. Most of the refugees went south to Nincetra, the future capital of the New Golden Alliance, while some went southwest to Shiminore.
