Aestren Republic

The Aestren Republic was a nation that existed in the region of Aestrum from 1541 P.C. and lasted until 18 A.o.R., a total of about 433 years. Birthed from the once very powerful Virdamidian Republic , they mostly existed as a stagnated version of their former selves, never reaching the glory of the nation they derived from.

The Republic would side with the Coalition of the Black Sun, eager to gain autonomy in pursuing their interests in magic from the Dominion of Tilliden and proved to become one of most vital keys to the war effort for both sides, controlling the routes into Katawan. In the end however, they fell to the New Elven Union and the Almaridian Empire, the two nations that many within the republic blamed for the fall of the Virdamidian Republic. Northern Aestrum was annexed by the New Elven Union, while Southern Aestrum was annexed by the Almaridians and made into a new province of their empire. Many in Aestrum today still wish and hope for a free Aestrum once more.
