Jiisha Wilds

A primal region in Bregarth where nature is the only authority.

Geography

Covering much of the North-Western portion of Bregarth, the Jiisha Wilds are a dense area of temperate rain forest home to many exotic flora and fauna exclusive to the region.

Fauna & Flora

Examples:
  • Pareia- Plants native to the Wilds and many smugglers, unsavoury organisations and fool-hardy fortune seekers have ventured into the Jungles in search of them for use in illegal narcotics production, though most never return.
  • Longclaw-Gharial- A large jungle predator with sleek fur and 6 powerful limbs stalks the canopies of the Jiisha Wilds. It has earned a fearsome reputation as a ferocious killer from the smugglers who try to make inroads into the jungles. Entirely nocturnal, many accounts of attacks say that the first, and only, warning one gets of the presence of the creature is the appearance of bright, blue eyes shining in the Jungle gloom before the carnage begins.
  • Howler Squik- A small, furred creature that lives in large colonies within the tree-trunks of the Wilds. Peaceful and curious these creatures pose no threat to travellers or other creatures of the Wilds.

History

The native Bregarth people have long held a deep respect for the Wilds and consider the region sacred. Bregarth history claims that this was the birthplace of the Bregarth people and that it is a sacred area of flourishing, primal life. Many Bregarthi (as they are known) make a pilgrimage to the Wilds at some point before their 30th year and resolve to spend a night in the area, to both prove themselves as capable and to make a sacred connection with their ancestors.
It is said that many temples and sacred sites can be found in the jungle but these sites are claimed by nature and full of dangerous flora and fauna.
