The Great Goren Desert

The Great Goren Desert is a vast expanse of sand and craggy canyons that dominates the eastern half of the continent.
It is said that, long ago in the deep annals of the Twilight Era, the land was actually a massive forest of towering trees that rivalled Sylltia in its verdure. In the course of some unknown cataclysm, the Forests of Goria were reduced to dust. Whether this is true remains a matter of debate, but one thing that can be said for certain is that powerful civilization once graced the lands. The dunes are dotted with countless ruined cities and temples, long abandoned to the sands.
The region is the single harshest on the continent, and its depths contain some of the most powerful monsters and dungeons in the world. The southeast peninsula, known as the Finger of Ash, is said to surpass even the Queendom of Weissfell in terms of sheer danger.
In modern times, The Great Goren Desert is sparse but not entirely barren. Oases dot the land, and caravans travel the region constantly, ferrying the unique bounty of the desert west in exchange for food and artisan goods. The Adventurers Guild maintains a strong presence in the area
