Sylltia

A craggy expanse of ancient forests and vibrant magic. It is said that Sylltia is a land in which the Feywild and the Mortal Plane intersect.   Sylltia dominates the western peninsula of Galadria, just north of the Bay of Thieves. It's eastern boundary is marked by the Magnolia Range. The range ends rather abruptly against a deep groove in the earth - Onslaught Canyon. The canyon runs north to south, splitting Sylltia off from the rest of the continent, and terminates in a large floodplain of karst towers called The Stalwart Stones.   Travelling further inland, the landscape of Sylltia quickly transitions into dense subtropical forest along the southern coast and temperate forest through the center and northern coast. The vast greenery is labrynthine, and it is incredibly easy for unprepared travellers to become lost among the greenery. Due to Sylltia's relative "closeness" to the Feywild, it is possible for wanderers to accidentally stray into the Feywild itself. The planar energies saturate the region, which has resulted in a powerful impact on the Sylltian life and culture.   The region itself is not technically unified, but all settlements and cities pay tribute to whichever Fey Court lays claim over their area. The most prominent of these Courts are the Summer Court and the Winter Court (collectively known as The High Courts), located deep within the heart of the forest, in the mountain range known as The Greenpeaks. Every Court of sufficient size will send a representative or diplomatic contingent to the High Courts in order to influence regional policy.   The individual lesser courts tend to all abide by the same caste system that governs the Feywild - a stratified system in which hierarchical position is based upon race and innate magical strength. Most courts have a single Fey Lord or Lady at the top, and a population dominated by various fey-touched mortal races. Elves and half-elves comprise the largest segment of the population, but dozens of other races call the land their home - from Centaurs to Firbolgs and everything in between.
