Finneas Gilligan

Finneas Gilligan is a genius mechanic who rebuilt a mech (The Fixer-Upper) using scrapped parts from Corvus-IV (in the Echloros System). He spent most of his life working on the mech, but is now ready to use it to explore the universe.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Finneas is lean and tall. He has muscles that were whipped into shape through his intensive and dedicated labor as a mechanic.

Facial Features

Finneas has freckles scattered across his nose and under his eyes. He has a little bit of stubble, and overall, his facial hair is not that well kept. He always has some sort of dirt, oil, or debris stuck to his face due to his physical involvement in his work.

Identifying Characteristics

His most visible identifying feature, besides his poor taste in matching colors, is his long, messy, orange hair put into a man-bun. However, he has a large burn mark all over his back, and the only part that is visible is a little bit that crawls just above his collar. It is only really noticeable without his bomber jacket, and even then, a good portion of it is obscured by his tank top.

Apparel & Accessories

Finneas prefers to wear a crimson bomber jacket with white stripes going down the arms on top of his grayish-purple tank top that he wears almost all the time. He wears dark gray cargo pants with many pockets, and a light gray rag hanging by the side of his waist. Lastly, he wears a fake gold necklace around his neck, has black heavy-duty boots, and thick protective goggles on his head. His clothes, except for the jacket, are weathered by the carelessness of his work.

Personal history

Finneas grew up on Corvus IV, an isolated colony that was strict on it's citizens. Because of his feelings of being trapped, Finneas longed to see a world that wasn't covered in scars and junk from a past war. Finneas, and his friends, were out on an adventure one day in the Garagelands, a junkyard that was large enough to be it's own region, and they found a dog tag from the war, where they conversed with a dead soldier. This led Finneas and his friends to find the remains of the soldier's mech: the Fixer-Upper. Finneas saw this as an opportunity to leave, and he felt indebted to the soldier. He spent the rest of his time on Corvus IV repairing the mech from scraps and debris, with some help of his friends and his sister, before leaving them behind to explore the world.

Gender Identity

Finneas mainly goes by He/They pronouns, but most refer to them as a "He", so he's grown comfortable with it.

Education

Finneas was schooled with his community until the Scavenge, a rite of passage in his community that sent teens of 15 years of age out to the Garagelands, a junkyard, and whatever they found would be analyzed and they would be given a job based off of it.

Employment

Finneas, even before the Scavenge, found his love in engineering, a passion he shared with his father, Hamish. He practiced his engineering outside of school, and was given the job of mechanic after the Scavenge.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Finneas worked most of his life trying to repair a mech that he and his friends found called the Fixer-upper. It was his main passion and focus in his life, so when he finally got it working, with some help from his friends and sister, he was overjoyed.

Motivation

Finneas wants to see the universe. It's been his dream since he was a kid to fly around and explore. He's willing to go to a lot of lengths in doing so, but will not commit to anything that will cause direct harm to people.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Finneas is a natural when it comes to engineering. He spent all of his life learning about mechanisms, and is always eager to learn more. This leads to him being creative and a logical thinker, and because he had to scavenge for most of his parts in a difficult land, he isn't a bad athlete either. However, his work pushed him away from a lot of social interaction, so besdies first impressions, he is socially awkward.

Vices & Personality flaws

Finneas is an avid drug user. He gets stressed over his work easily and needs things to calm him down. However, this leads to him unreliable, as one never knows if he is high or not, and if you need him for something, you better hope he's not.

Hygiene

Finneas is not an extremely clean guy. With activities that include both drugs and careless engineering, he is often dirtied without any time to shower. He still tries to keep as clean as possible, but it hygiene is not his biggest concern.
