Diplomatic action
The Gellion empire enters the great unity war, a war waged against four other nations. And phoenixes are introduced into the war to great affect.
The Gellion empire began a war campaign to absorb the four other nations within the Gellion geographic region by warfare or diplomacy. As they waged war on one of the four other nations they suddenly all banded together and rebelled against Gellion. The only thing keeping Gellion from being destroyed was their arcane gift, and better weapons. In one particular battle Gellion was defending their rear as two armies struck against their land. Before the empire could admit defeat The Arch Emmision, leader of the arcanian religious order come down upon the battle with a flock of phoenixes. All the nations at war were members of this religion, The Arch Emmision was never supposed to take sides with any of the nations. The Arch Emmision pronounced that these great avians were sent by Emmis himself and that the arcanian order was to support Gellion. The phoenixes turned the tide of battle allowing Gellion to claim victory. Two of the four nations joined the empire soon after admitting the truth of The Arch Emmision, that Emmis their god supported Gellion. Gellion soon enlisted flying carriages pulled by pegasi, these new war carriages they have been developing, combined with their arcane magic and the phoenixes allowed them to subdue and absurd the rest of the nations forming modern day Gellion. After the war the Emperor established the high nobles and their families into high houses. These twenty high houses were chosen for the roles they played in the war. The Springfield's supplied the emperor with his warhorse who never faltered. The Montoya family crafted an enchanted necklace that had saved his life. Soon the phoenix council was established and system of governance was made for the high houses. Further more the arcane lineage program was started to make allow the high houses to have arcane magic run strongly in their families. In the later half of the era the empire began to greatly relay upon the arcane magic and more and more mages were born each year. The emperor and the high house Lombardi established the mage colleges. Finally the Bronze and diamond dwarves began their trading with the empire and adopted their calendar and spread it to the other nations they traded with. It is because of the dwarves that most of the world has the empirical calendar in the modern era.
