Mariette
Mariette was an NPC which appeared in the
Smugglers of magic campaign. She was one of Vena's sired vampires and one of his lovers.
Mariette was a prostitute all the way down in the guts (the river section of Bersail and the absolute poorest area). As pretty much all streetrats of the city are there, she was an informant for the Stolen and Vena tried to get purchase on her for that reason.
When Vena thinks he has Mariette seduced to try and get her to murder a stolen member he wants dead for her, she then only agrees to it IF she is turned into a vampire, which took Vena by surprise as Mariette gathered his plan and willingly went along, she even revealed she had planned this out longer, trying to be the Stolen member on the street when he was there on the hope and likelihood he would pick her up and use him as a pathway out of the guts. Vena was nothing but impressed and took her in, turning her soon after.
Mariette does everything with effortless energy. She holds a philosophy to do as little as possible to get as much out of it as possible, and she is good at that, she watches and thinks and only does 1 or 2 little actions to still somehow end up with what she wants.
Mariette is quiet and laid back in her actions, she barely ever talks.She has a habit of smoking cannabis, she is nearly immune to normal amounts from her vampire nature and does it as nothing but habit. During the campaign Letya was briefly seen alongside her vampire sisters (Letya, Yuren and Nua) which were all tricked by Lady, disguised to sneak into the Red reveler club. This resulted in 2 of the vampires dying.
Soon after Letya and Mariette were seen again in a fight with the party when the PC's of the campaign attacked the red reveler club, this is where Letya died. Mariette used her vampire ability to turn invisible to escape however. At the end of the Smuggler of magic campaign Mariette is the only of Vena his vampires that is still alive and out there somewhere. Lady did place a bounty on Mariette so she might one day be caught.
